Frédéric Chaslin becomes Chief Conductor

Frédéric Chaslin, the French conductor who led the acclaimed performances of La Traviata last season will become The Santa Fe Opera’s Chief Conductor starting October 1, 2010.  Announcement of his selection was made by General Director Charles MacKay.

As conductor he has led important productions in major opera houses world-wide; performed as pianist; composed music for film and symphony orchestra; written an opera, Wuthering Heights; and is the author of Music in Every Sense, which is to be published in English this fall.
